1. Touch wood, haha. I bought my PQ1500 in 1998, and it’s still in fantastic working order.
However, I am one of those unashamed PQ1500SL lovers (I upgraded from only ever having used a Brother XM2701, which is comparable to the CS6000i), and those little quirks take like a day or two to get used to, and once you mess around with it a little, it is a great machine. Testing the machines would definitely help you make the best decision for you. After battling so much with my previous, smaller, less powerful machine, I have now had it for a year and have used it to create about 15 quilts as well as other smaller crafts. It comes with everything you need for quilting, so there’s no need to purchase more feet or anything else for the price, in my opinion.

2. I can’t really provide a thorough evaluation because I just set up my TL-2000QI an hour ago. I’d only ever owned a cheap Euro-Pro machine before this one. The Juki seems to operate quite well, and it is much quieter than my previous machine. To experiment with the tensions and learn how to thread, wind a bobbin, and other things, I made a small test sandwich. I believe it to be rather user-friendly. I don’t want to bring bad luck.
